I’ve been training the Brazilian martial art capoeira for about three years now and it’s become one of the cornerstones of my daily life. Over that same time, more and more capoeiristas would come to CHURCH LA and blend in with the dancers – to the point where most CHURCH parties in LA ended up with a spontaneous roda (pronounced “hoda” - a capoeira circle) in the middle of the dancefloor! I wanted to include that vibe on the album so I invited my mestre (teacher) to come into studio and jam out an interlude of berimbau and vocals with me and ended up with this intergalactic sounding jam…
