Rob O. I am fortunate to have discovered Mark's music on Bandcamp via Ropeadope. A master of electronics mixing ear-pleasing sounds with Jazz vibes. His wife Nia contributes beautiful vocals to some of his work too. Look for her on Tommaso Cappellato's Aforemention album. Incredible talent of musicians playing including Nate Smith, Duane Eubanks, Robin Eubanks, etc. The album takes the listener on a musical journey of creative colorful soundscapes venturing into electronic bliss. I am now a fan! Favorite track: Now or Never feat. Nia Andrews.

nia andrews naturally i'm gonna be a little biased, BUT, this music is ripe with so many beautiful, sometimes haunting, always brilliant sounds! i think this is mark's best work to date. definitely my favorite collection of music by him! Favorite track: Sketch For Miguel.
Dr. Beaf
Dr. Beaf thumbnail
Dr. Beaf Since the early days on Tap Records, Mark has always delivered great tunes, and this is definitely crème de la crème. He is a Nu-jazz master composing some sweet and peaceful tracks full of smooth funk grooves, sublime horn sections and production that glows experience. Favorite track: Hollow feat. Nia Andrews.
Efrem Sharp
Efrem Sharp thumbnail
Efrem Sharp This is how I pictured jazz in this generation. Raw, boundless, and full of life. Plus the live shows are not to be sat on and gawked upon. Favorite track: Ghaziya.
Osunlade
Osunlade thumbnail
Osunlade Not much can be said about MDCL besides he is one of the most consistent artists in our time and this album is my favorite of the lot! Favorite track: Sun Up Sun Down feat. theeKIDICARUS.
Alicia
Alicia thumbnail
Alicia "Church" has instantly become an all time favorite album. Each and every song is a multi-layered experience felt, not just listened to. For example, "The Mission" FEELS like a summoning of inner hero/superpower.

"The Mission" stands out as a favorite, but many others conjure up euphoria including "Brukstep," "Now or Never," "Hollow," and "Distractions."

This album is a must own. Bravo to MdCL and collaborators for your artistry and brilliance. Favorite track: The Mission feat. John Robinson.
